Nepal, no doubt, is one the best adventurous tourist destination in the world. As a Destination Management Expert, it is our duty to check the service of our suppliers. We travel frequently around Nepal, and check the hotels, activities, service delivery, and hospitality to name a few. As a result of this inspection, we select the most noteworthy adventure activity providers and hotels. These are the activities and hotels that we suggest to our valued clients.
This time we decided to inspect Zip Flyer (Zip Flying) an adventure activity in Nepal, Pokhara.
Zip flyer/Zip line is a newly introduces adventure activity in Nepal, Pokhara (200 km west of Kathmandu). It has already become one of the famous attractions among the tourist. With a total length of 1.8 kilometers and inclination of 56 degrees and a drop of 600 meters, it is the longest, tallest and the steepest Zip line in the whole world. The Zip line that starts from the 1625 mtrs in Sarangkot and ends at 960 mtrs in Hemmja plain is the longest one in the world.
We arrived to the sales office in Pokhara and met beautiful and hospitable sales personnel. As we had decided they, booked us for the next day 1400 hrs shift. After filling up the booking form finally, we were confirmed for the next day 1400 hrs slot. Very Professional, no hassle, and they provided us the next day pick up time for the activity. Impressed by their service, we listed them as one of our potential supplier for Zip line activity.
The sales office is located in the center of the city. It is very close to the hotels that we provide to our clients in Pokhara. However, if there are a group more than 6-8 people, the supplier arrange transfers directly from and to the hotel.
The next day we arrived at the said time and the transfer was already ready. This punctuality impressed us. They had requested us to arrive to the sales exactly at 1345 hrs, when we were there the transfer was already ready. In no time we were in the van and started our drive to Sarangkot (the starting point of Zipflyer). We had 6 foreigners with us, every one of us were excited. As we were driving towards the Sarangkot, we were rewarded with beautiful views of mountains. We arrived at the point and were provided some security briefings.
Now it was my turn for the ride. What an adrenaline drive it was. Finally, my name was called, I climbed to the ramp and the crew equipped me with all necessary gears. They were providing me some briefings, but I was more continuously looking at the step rope.
They told me to lean backwards throughout the ride and stretch and widen the leg. This I remember.
They counted 1, 2 ,3, 4 ,5 and they off I went, wow 90 second ride but fully worth it. The views of the Annapurna mountain range, Dhaulagiri range, Fishtail, Lamjung Himal range and panoramic view of Pokhara valley. I was travelling at 140km/hour Wow!!! This trip started fast and ended fast, but what a ride it was!! It will be a moment to remember.
