Short Everest Trekking

Everest Panorama Trek is among the favored short Everest trekking in Nepal. The views from during this trek, seen to best advantage within the morning, is totally thrilling with gorgeous views of Himalaya peaks. (8848m/29029 feet), Lhotse, Amadablam, Nuptse, Kantega, Thamserku, Konde et al. mountains.

Further, this Everest trek is for those who do not have ample time to trek all the way to the Everest Base Camp. But would love to get away from the road and follow the dramatic mountain trails. Get up close to native Sherpa people and their Buddhist culture, view of snowcapped mountains, Buddhist monasteries, snow-capped peaks and varieties of floras and faunas. Also for those who would like to live up a glory of having been to one of the world famous trekking trails.

Itinerary


Day 1 Arrival - Kathmandu

Arrive in Kathmandu. Meeting and assistance at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day is free.

Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2 Kathmandu

Morning tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square. It is a place where the city’s Kings were crowned. Having been built and rebuilt over the generations, it is now the valley’s number one tourist attractions. Most of the temples you see here are a mere three or four centuries old. The entire square was designated as a World Heritage Monument in 1979. The Durbar Square is teeming with shrines and statues. Walk around Kumari Chowk which is a home of “living goddesses”, she comes to the balcony at the scheduled time to welcome the guests.

Continue on to Swayambhunath Stupa. On the top of the hill west of Kathmandu value is one of the popular and instantly recognizable symbols of Nepal. It is also referred to as “Monkey Temple” by many tourists because of the large tribes of monkeys that guards the hill. Legends say after the Bodhisattva Manjushri drained the water from the lake revealing the Kathmandu valley, the lotus one the island of the lake was transformed into the hillock, and the blazing light from the lotus became the statue.

Afternoon tour of Patan Durbar Square. Patan also known as Lalitpur is the second largest city inside the valley. Patan has a long Buddhist influence and the four corners of the city are marked by Stupas said to have been created by great Buddhist emperor around 250 BC.

Day 3 Fly to Lukla and start trek to Phakding (2,800m)

Early morning, transfer to the domestic airport in Kathmandu and fly to Lukla.

Commence trek to Phakding (3.5 hrs walk). The trail from Lukla descends steeply to Thado Khola, crossing in on the local suspension bridge. Meet your first Yaks, wonderful Shaggy beasts that create lumbering mobile roadblocks on the trail. The trail passes through Ghat (2530m) on the bank of Dudh Koshi river and climbs to Phakding.

Day 4 Phakding - Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

Today trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (6 hrs walk).

The trail from Phakding passes through a number of waterfalls. Glimpse wonderful peak of Thamserku (6618m). Pass through Benker, Monjo, and Jorsale crossing the entrance of Everest National park. The trail crosses Dudh Koshi river on a suspension bridge that is at a dizzying height above the river.

Day 5 Namche Bazaar

Acclimatization is important before proceeding to the higher altitude. We will spend the day taking a hike to Thami or just by relaxing and exploring Namche Bazaar.

Day 6 Namche Bazaar - Tengboche (3,870m)

Today trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (6 hrs walk).

The route from Namche to Tengboche is direct, reasonably level. We may get a glimpse of Himalayan Thar on the hillside below the trail early morning. We will pass through several Gompas, schools along our trail till we reach Khumjung. From Khumjung trail goes eastwards down the valley, continuously passing picturesque mani walls and Chortens.

Day 7 Tengboche - Khumjung (3,790m)

Today trek from Tengboche to Khumjung (4 hrs walk). The route descends sharply to the Dudh Koshi river and then ascends to Mongdanda. Follow the slopes of Khumbila towards the hidden valley of Khumjung.

Day 8 Khumjung - Monjo (2,653m)

Today descend to the small Sherpa settlement of Monjo (5 hrs walk).

Day 9 Monjo - Lukla (2,800m)

This is your last day of the trek as you arrive Lukla (5 hrs walk), the descent is a bit rough to the knees, but warmer climate offers an opportunity to finally shed down-filled jackets and woolen jumpers.

Overnight at the local lodge/tea house in Lukla.

Day 10 Lukla - Kathmandu

Early morning, transfer to the domestic airport in Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day is free.

Evening, transfer to an authentic Nepali restaurant for Nepali dinner with cultural shows. Do not miss to enjoy an authentic Nepali dinner with cultural dinners once you are here in Kathmandu. This is one of the wonderful experiences to taste typical Nepali food which we call “Dal Baht” with lentils. You will be surprised with the variety of Nepalese dishes that will keep on coming. The server with a gentle smile in their face will name you every item in Nepali as well as in English language before serving you. Along with the food you will be kept entertained with typical Nepali folk shows. You will get a chance to see the dance performance of different ethnic groups of Nepal in their unique cultural uniform.

Day 11 Kathmandu - Departure

Free till departure. Transfer to the airport at time to connect your onward flight
